Eastern Surgery Ltd (ESL) is an independent healthcare company established to provide high quality services to patients undergoing NHS elective care. ESL is working alongside Primary Care Trusts to deliver the national choice agenda. Patients now have a choice to elect to have their procedure undertaken in the independent sector, fully funded by the NHS. ESL also treats patients with private medical insurance and those who wish to fund their own treatment.
ESL has provided choice to over 3500 patients since 2004. A wide spectrum of elective procedures has been completed, including cataract surgery, general surgery and a large range of orthopaedic procedures. ESL utilises the skills of experienced consultant surgeons from a wide range of specialities. All procedures offered by ESL are undertaken by consultants who have full accreditation in both independent and National Health hospitals.
Suffolk Brett Stour Ltd
Suffolk Brett Stour Ltd was established in 2005 by 11 primary care practices in East Suffolk who serve a population of 97,000 patients. The Company’s remit is to:
- Base its priorities on the needs of patients and their families
- Deliver services which are patient centred and delivered as close to the patient’s home as possible
- Share training opportunities, expertise and experience across the company’s member practices.
Services the company provides will be based on good clinical quality evidence, working as closely as possible with secondary care in their development in the community.
ESL and Suffolk Brett Stour have combined their expertise in order to deliver high quality innovative services in a community based setting using local consultant surgeons resulting in the formation of Eastern Primary Care.
